The best kept carpet stain secret!! You will thank me.

        This is A-A-Amazing!!!

Full disclosure-

I am a simple girl.
I am easily amused.

This little carpet tip left me speechless.
As it will you--

 Scrubbing!

Everyday household products.

Results I have never seen.

Amazing!!!

Where has this been all my life? You would think with four children and a dog, I would be smart enough to invest in dark carpet. Um, no. Negative ghost rider.  I am a sucker for aesthetics. I pay dearly for it.  I have light carpet and cream rugs. Surely, mothers around the country just cringed. My life changed for the better last night. Yours will too.

You will need:

a spray bottle

an iron

a white towel

ammonia
(white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide)

water

In a spray bottle, mix 1:1

1 cup ammonia

and

1 cup hot water

*(You may substitute white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide for ammonia if needed-see below)

Wet the stain liberally with the sprayer.  Do not soak the carpet and pad completely, but make sure your carpet is wet.

The stain--dead center.

I would tell you what it was if I knew??!
Your guess is as good as mine. Popsicle, Kool-Aid, Fruit Punch?? The darkest part is dead center, but there are smaller drops around the large stain if you look closer.

Spray carpet with your bottle of liquid.

Now, place a white towel (white as to not allow any other color to bleed) and lay it directly on top of the stain.

Take your iron, turn it on the highest heat setting and set it on top of the stain.  Allow the iron to steam for awhile.  I left mine about one minute making sure to move it slightly.

When the iron stops steaming, pull the towel back and check the stain.  Depending on how difficult or deep, you may need to repeat.

Here is the towel.

The results!!!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME, PEOPLE??!

I have been doing this for the past six hours. Every piece of carpet in my house. I can't get over it. I am sure there is some science involved, but for me, it is magic.

MAGIC!

Cream colored carpet

just became an option

 for mothers everywhere...

Did the earth move for you? It did for me!

*I also tried the same technique using vinegar instead of ammonia, only because the smell of ammonia had my kids whining. The vinegar worked as well.  I also tried hydrogen peroxide as well just for fun. It was my favorite.  It did not bleach the carpet as it was not exposed long enough.  It left no odor and produced the same results.
